NECC Baseball Poll Released; Lesley Slated Sixth

The Lynx were voted to finish sixth in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) poll released this morning by NECC Assistant Commissioner for Communications Robb Modica. The Lynx - who completed their second NCAA season in 2012 - finished 8-26 overall and 4-14 in the conference and returns the core of their team including 2012 NECC First Team All-Conference selecion Aqib Shah (Watertown, Mass) and 2012 Second Team All-Conference selection Tyler Plourd (Canton, Conn.).

Lesley will also return the vast majority of their pitching staff, including their entire starting rotation, headlined by junior captain Ryan Genua (Prospect, Conn.) who led the team with 51.1 innings pitched last season.

The Lynx will open up their season with a double-header against Clark University on March 9th in Lakeland, Fla.

Defending NECC champion Daniel Webster College was voted to finish atop the standings once again this season. The Eagles, who led the ballot with six first place votes and 47 total points, will return five starters but will need to replace three 2012 NECC First Team All-Conference pitchers this season.
