ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Tom Muratore (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) has been announced as the 2015 New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year. Muratore, who was honored with the award following a vote of the league’s coaches, was also placed on the NECC Second Team All-Conference. Joining him with Second Team honors is junior Gustavo Polidor (Caracas, Venezuela) and senior Rob Parson (Commack, N.Y.).

QUINCY, Mass.- Lesley University saw their three-game winning streak come to an end as Eastern Nazarene College took both ends of a non-conference doubleheader this afternoon at Bradley Field. Freshman Steve Witkowski (Pittsfield, Mass.) pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out two and allowing just two hits to earn his first win of the season to propel the Beacons to 14-12 on the season. LAKEWOOD, Fla. – Ray Cohen’s (Coventry, Conn.) walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth inning led Lesley University to a 3-2 win in the opening game of a doubleheader with Utica College this afternoon at Henley Field in Lakeland, Fla. AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts scored two runs in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 3-3 before adding the winning run in the eighth as the Trailblazers secured the doubleheader sweep of the Lynx today at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Fla. MCLA’s 4-3 extra-inning win came after topping Lesley 10-1 in the first game of the afternoon.
