ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Ryan Pumphret (Shrewsbury, Mass.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Rebecca Mullen made the announcement today in the conference Weekly Report.
Pumphret raised his season-average to team-leading .373 after hitting safely in all six games on the week for the Lynx. The freshman also knocked in seven RBI to bring his season total to a team-high 15.

NECC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ryan Pumphret, Lesley (Fr., Shrewsbury, Mass.) - Pumphret was on fire this week, compiling a .750 (12-for-16) batting average to go with seven RBI's in five games. The rookie kicked off the week going 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in a 6-5 win over Elms before going a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish in game one against Southern Vermont on Saturday. Pumphret finished 2-for-3 and was a responsible for all four runs in a 4-1 win over the Mountaineers in the nightcap.
