BEVERLY, Mass. - The Lesley University men's basketball team overcome a six point halftime deficit to defeat Wentworth Institute of Technology 77-74 in the second game of the season for the Lynx.  The Lynx even their early 2008-2009 record to 1-1 after an opening loss to Endicott College at the DIME Magazine Tip-Off Invitational.

Jesus Trejo (Methuen, Mass.) scored a game-high 28 points with seven rebounds the victory.  Trejo was extremely efficient, shooting 12-of-15 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line.  Seventeen of his 28 points came in the first half of the game.

Complementing Trejo's effort were fellow big man Malcolm Andrews (Medford, Mass.) with 16 points and Nijel Robinson (Plainsboro, N.J.) with 13 points, respectively.  Andrews came alive in the second half, hitting all four of his shots from the field, including a three-point attempt.

Wentworth opened up an early eight point lead thanks to junior Matt Abbott (Falmouth, Mass.) and senior Todd Doyle (Mystic, Conn.) who scored 13 and nine points a piece.  Doyle's second three-pointer of the half helped him break 1,000 career collegiate points.

Later in the first half, Doyle and Abbott caught fire against to help build a 12 point lead for the Leopards but Trejo fought back with nine points of his own in the final five minutes to cut the lead down to just six at halftime.

Deep into the second half, Wentworth's Kevin Leopard (Ware, Mass.) sank back-to-back three-pointers to give the Leopards a nine point advantage with seven minutes remaining.  Trejo and Andrews, however, took the game over by scoring 10 points in the paint and dominating the free-throw line to hand Lesley a late-game lead.

Lesley's Matt Grassa (Everett, Mass.) hit a pair of free throws with four seconds left to ice the game for the Lynx.  Grassa finished the game with eight points, five assists, and a steal.

The Lynx will be back in action on November 19 at 7:00 pm for an away game against Westfield State.  Wentworth will host Framingham State on November 18 starting at 7:00 pm.
