McCrary Stuffs Stat Sheet as Lynx Fall to Clark 81-66

WORCESTER, MA. -- The Lesley Men's Basketball team lost 81-66 to Clark University on Tuesday night despite an impressive night from Gabe McCrary. The Lynx drop to 2-6 this season, while Clark continues an unbeaten start to their season at 7-0.

  • Marco Powells was the leading scorer for both teams at halftime, though Clark got enough from their side to hold a two point lead at half. Powells shot 4-for-6 from three in the first twenty minutes on his way to fourteen early points.
  • Clark had more scoring chances in the first half than the Lynx, outshooting them 41 to 30, but they also only shot 36.6% from the field. Biko Gayman had twelve points, while Bruce Saintilus had ten, but the Lynx defense was able to force enough misses to stay in the game.
  • Fortunes flipped the other way in the second half, with Lesley only shooting 31.3% as Clark ran away with a 40-27 second half score. Gayman and Saintilus both scored eleven in the half, finishing with 23 pints for Gayman and 21 for Saintilus.
  • McCrary, fresh off his fourth straight NECC Rookie of the Week win, was impressive in every facet of the game in this one. Despite the loss, McCrary scored 19 points, collected eight rebounds and eight assists, while adding six steals. He is now second in the NECC in points per game at 22.9, fifth in rebounds per game with 6.3, and second in assists per game with 4.6. Michael Langford, who finished this one with ten points and eleven rebounds, holds the top spot in rebounds per game with 9.6.

The Lynx return home on Saturday December 4th for a 1:30 PM matchup with Framingham State.
