Turnover Struggles Keep Lynx from Beating Mitchell

MEDFORD, MA. -- The Lesley Men's Basketball team fell again on Wednesday night, this time 107-65 to Mitchell College. The Lynx fall to 2-13 overall and 0-1 in the NECC, while the Mariners advance to 11-8 and 1-0 in the conference.

  • Turnovers were the killer in this one for Lesley. The Lynx committed thirty total turnovers, allowing Mitchell to take 28 more shots in the game. The Mariners outscored Lynx 39-9 off of turnovers, in part thanks to Jalen Benson's six steals.
  • Benson added fifteen points and six rebounds in a big night for the Mariners, while Mikey Buscetto followed up a twenty assist performance last time against the Lynx with fifteen more dimes, while Alfonzo Stokes led the Mariners with eighteen points.
  • The Lynx shot well on the night, making 51% of their shots from the field, though they could not overcome the opportunities handed to Mitchell. Marco Powells led the team with 17 points, while Gabe McCrary had 16 and Davion Fields had 13. Adonis Giannopolous contributed six points and eight rebounds.

The Lynx travel to Eastern Nazarene for more NECC action at 7 PM on Saturday February 5th.
