Soccer and volleyball star Zachary Almeida-Beers was named Lesley 2011 Male Athlete of the Year, an award soccer and softball's Alyson Durben won on the women's side at Monday night's athletics banquet.
Lesley University is among one of 129 programs nationally to have both its women's and men's soccer programs recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with the NSCAA Team Academic Awards based on the teams' grade point averages for the 2009-10 school year.

Along with their New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) schedule, the Lynx will expand their non-conference competition nationwide with matches against teams from Wisconsin, New York, and Illinois.
