CAMBRIDGE, MA -- In Lesley's first ever NCAA Tournament game, the Lynx have drawn the Beavers of Babson College on Saturday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m.
Lesley received its inaugural NCAA Tournament bid by besting Southern Vermont Sunday afternoon, 4-0, in the New England Collegiate Conference Championship.
The host Beavers, from the New England Women's and Men's Athletics Conference, went 15-2-3 on the season. On Sunday in the NEWMAC championship game, Babson tied Springfield College, 1-1, and lost in penalty kicks. The NEWMAC's top seed in the league tournament, the Beavers received an at-large bid to NCAA's and went a perfect 6-0 in conference matches.
The Lynx and Beavers will play the 11:00 a.m. game on Saturday, with Trinity (CT) and St. Joseph's (ME) playing at Hartwell-Rodgers Field following Lesley's match, with the second game tenatively scheduled for 1:15 p.m. The winner of both of Saturday's games will play on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., also at Hartwell-Rodgers Field.
Babson is 10-2-1 on the year on its home turf, while Lesley is 9-4-1 away from Cambridge.
