SINANIS NAMED PLAYER OF THE YEAR, FIVE OTHERS EARN HONORS FROM NECC

(CAMBRIDGE, Mass.)- Lesley University senior forward Ari Sinanis (Guilford, Conn.) was selected the 2012 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Soccer Player of the Year in a vote of the league's coaches. A three time all-NECC selection, Sinanis is among the league leaders with five goals and three assists in league play.

Lesley goalkeeper Nigel Leahy (New Paltz, N.Y.) was also honored as the conference Goalkeeper of the Year. The senior allowed just three goals over six league contests for a 0.54 goals against average making 13 saves on the season.

Lesley head coach Paul Vasconcelos was honored by his peers as the league's top coach after guiding the Lynx to an undefeated 7-0 mark in conference play this season. The Lynx also garnered the league's Sportsmanship Award.

Four other Lynx player earned All-Conference accolades. Senior's Jonathan Jones Takano (Tokyo, Japan) and Sean Randall (Fremont, Calif.) were also named First Team All-Conference along with Sinanis and Leahy. Takano appeared in 17 games finishing the season with 4 goals and 1 assist. Randall helped anchor a Lynx defense that led the NECC in goals against average with a miniscule 1.16 average.

Senior Darius Koep (Pittstown, N.J.) and sophomore Jordan Santos (Middlebury, Conn.) were each selected to the Second Team All-Conference squad. Santos finished the season with 1 goal and 4 assists while Koep finished with 4 goals and 1 assist.
