Marty Morrissey joins Lesley University as the second head coach for the men's tennis program looking to improve upon a 6-6 season and an impressive finishin the New England Collegiate Conference Tournament.
Coach Morrissey comes to Lesley after coaching fellow NECC rival Wheelock College as the men's tennis head coach. Morrissey helped lead his Wildcat players through a competitive gauntlet of conferene teams and into the NECC Tournament.
Morrissey has taught tennis to people of all ages for the past five years at Hampshire Hills Sports and Fitness and at Jasper Valley Swim and Tennis clubs. He has also coached Next Level Tennis for advanced high school and college players.
A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Morrissey played
collegiate varsity tennis for two years. He finished his
career at UNH as the number two singles player and on number one
doubles team. As a high school tennis player at Souhegan High
School in Amherst, New Hampshire, Morrissey was a member of four
state championship teams.
