As specified in NECC men's volleyball championship guidelines, a two-way tiebreaker was applied to determine the third seed and fourth seed.  In the initial step, both Lesley and Elms split during the regular season with the Lynx winning 3-0 on February 9th and the Blazers winning 3-1 on February 13th.

In the next step, both teams' records against all other NECC teams in descending order of the conference standings were examined. Both teams lost to Newbury and Daniel Webster and defeated Southern Vermont.
