Sophomore Nick Green (Stoughton, Mass.) has gotten off to a fast start this season, leading the Lynx in each of their three events throughout the season. Jim Fenton, of the Patriot Ledger, wrote about Green and his quick start in today's sports section. From the article:
Nick Green of Stoughton made a favorable first impression last season, earning the New England Collegiate Conference cross country rookie of the year award. Three meets into his second season at Lesley University in Cambridge, Green has shown absolutely no signs of a sophomore slump.
Green has been selected the NECC runner of the week after all three of his races, improving on what he accomplished as a freshman. In the season opener at the Emmanuel College Fens Classic, Green was fifth overall on the 5-kilometer course in 16:41 and took third at the Trinity Invitational in 16:57.
