CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University womens basketball team had their best season under Head Coach Dan Hunt as they finished the 2007-2008 season with a 11-14 (5-9 North Atlantic Conference) record. The season was highlighted with key wins over stiff competition, a milestone reached by a senior captain, and the emergence of an exciting group of young players.

Freshman Kaitlyn Wechsler (Merrick, N.Y.) and Brianne Caira (Pelham, N.H.) gave a glimpse of the future for the Lynx as the freshmen scored 16 and 15 points respectively, in a 78-67 loss to UMaine-Farmington. The loss dropped Lesleys record to 11-14 (5-9 North Atlantic Conference) while Farmington improved to 11-12 (8-5 NAC).

The loss was the first game of Wheatons New Years Tournament and Lesley will play Emerson College, who were defeated by Trinity College (Conn.), in the consolation game on Friday.
