Lynx Taper Out in Loss to Lions

QUINCY, MA. -- The Lesley Women's Basketball team ran out of steam on Thursday afternoon, falling to the Eastern Nazarene Lions 89-49 in an NECC matchup. The Lynx drop to 2-14 overall and 0-3 in conference play, while the Lions move up to 12-8 and a 4-1 NECC record.

  • The Lynx held strong in the first quarter, battling back from a 13-3 deficit to stay in the game and pull within eight by the end of the quarter. Janelle Jiron was the difference, as her eight points kept the Lions ahead. Raven Premont's four points off the bench helped the Lynx stay in it early.
  • ENC was able to pull a little further ahead in the second quarter, fighting off an attack led by Kizziah Ruff's eight points. By halftime, the Lions had doubled their lead and were ahead by seventeen. The Lynx were only able to pick up 20 points in the second half, as their scoring tapered in each consecutive quarter in this one.

She was nearly perfect from the field, making ten of eleven shots in forty minutes and nailing her only shot from the free throw line. Most of the rest of the Lions' offensive came from their bench, with Shade Richardson adding fifteen points and Tyra Davis scoring 13.
