CAMBRIDGE, MA. -- The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has released their 2021-22 Women's Basketball Award winners and Lesley Women's Basketball's Kizziah Ruff has been named the NECC Co-Rookie of the Year.
Ruff, a native of Cambridge and graduate of the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, found immediate success in her rookie season with the Lynx. Ruff appeared in twenty games, starting every one of them. She averaged 13.8 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, and 1.2 steals per game. She shot 37.7% from the field, including 33.9% from three-point range for the best mark in the conference. Her 13.8 points per game was also second in the conference and she also finished in the top five in steals. Ruff finished the season on a streak of sixteen straight games with double-digit points scored and delivered a season high of 21 points in the regular season finale against Mitchell College.
Yasmine Santos from Mitchell College finished tied for first in Rookie of the Year voting, leading to her sharing the honors with Ruff.
In addition to Ruff's award, the Lynx were also represented on the Del Malloy Sportsmanship team by freshman forward McKenna Rodriquenz of Westminster, MA.
