CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lynx improved to 6-0-0 on the season as they rolled over Southern Vermont College 10-0 in their home opener.
Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) sparked the offense with two goals and two assists. Joining Fralick were Lauren Mastellone (Howell, N.J.), Cathryn Folkestad (Ipswich, Mass.), and Alyson Durben (Stow, Mass.) who all chipped in with two goals and an assist a piece. Lauren Polinsky (Palo Alto, Calif.) knocked in her first goal of the year.
Anchoring the defense were Folkestad and Sarah Etzel (Manorville, N.Y.) as they completed shut down the Mountaineer offense. Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) recorded her third shutout of the year as she has only allowed three goals in six games.
"It is always nice to get a big win, but we know that the competition is about to get a lot stiffer as we begin league play," commented Head Coach Paul Vasconcelos. "We are playing as a team and there is a lot of good chemistry up front, which is very promising."
