Lynx and Panthers play to 1-1 tie

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Lesley University women's soccer team traveled down to Old Westbury, New York for a non-conference match with SUNY College at Old Westbury. The Lynx and the Panthers battled through two overtimes and ended with a 1-1 tie.
Lesley moved their 2009 record to 4-1-1 while Old Westbury is now 2-3-1.
Lesley sophomore Jenna Fralick (WOBURN, Mass./Woburn) kicked off the scoring early in the first half at 16:18 when she finished off a pass from teammate Savannah Dunay (EFFORT, Pa./Pleasant Valley) for her third goal of the season. Dunay assist was her second assist in as many games.
The Lynx held the lead until the 79th minute when Panthers midfielder Cassandra Esposito (VALLEY STREAM, N.Y./Valley Stream North) knotted the score with a breakaway assisted by Jennifer Campisi (COMMACK, N.Y./Commack).
In the overtime periods, the Lynx outshot the Panthers 6-2 and held an overall shot advantage of 18-7 for the entire match.
In net, Old Westbury keeper Jennifer Kupfer (BELLMORE, N.Y./Mepham) made a career-high nine saves while Lesley keeper Hailee Lowe (HAMILTON, Mass./Hamilton-Wenham Regional) stopped three shots on goal in the match.
On Thursday, September 24, Lesley will host UMass-Boston at 8:00 pm while Old Westbury hosts Farmingdale State in a conference match up on the same day.
