CAMBRIDGE,Mass.-- Nicholas Athletic Center was filled with excitement as the Lynx swept the Hawks of Becker College, 9-0. Lesley improves to 3-7 as the Hawks remain winless.
Lesley swept in the doubles category 3-0. In the first match of today's contest, the duo of Caroline Kiddie (Scituate, Mass.) and Theresea Pereira (Hopedale, Mass.) took the 8-2 win over Jacqueline Andrade (Somerset, Mass.) and Victoria Puczydlowski (Dudley, Mass.). Maddie Abbott (Portland, Maine) and Jessica Russo (Watertown, Mass.) teamed up against Dana Mahan (Manville, R.I.) and Fiona Gilley (Worcester, Mass.) to finish out on top 8-1. In the last doubles matchup of the day the Lynx pair of Sara Stanton (Manchester, Mass.) and Rachel Mingingham (Hopedale, Mass.) swept Shannon Hazelton (Rockland, Mass.) and Jessica Mossop (Wellington, Fla.), 8-0.
Kiddie swept in No. 1 singles 6-0 over Andrade. Abbott dominated Puczydlowski, 6-1 and 6-0, in the second singles matchup of the contest. Mary Pulling (Whitman Hanson, Mass.) swept Mossop in both sets 6-0 respectively. Russo also swept Gilley with scores of 6-0 for both. Pereira came out on top against Mahan, 6-1, 6-2. In the final set of the match, Stanton led the Lynx to victory with a 6-1 and 6-0 win over Hazleton.
The Lynx are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they host Albertus Magnus College with a 4:00 p.m. start time.
