WATERVILLE, ME.-- The Lesley women's tennis team lost their second match of the season on Sunday afternoon, falling 9-0 to Thomas College despite some strong performances. The Lynx fall to 0-2 so far this season, while the Terriers move up to 3-2.

  • Thomas took all three doubles matches on the afternoon, led by Kiara Goggin and Lauren Smith getting the edge on Morgan Anderson and Brooke Whitten by a close score of 8-5. Joselyn Martinez and Annie Dai held strong in another close loss to Riley Pierce and Magan Williams in doubles #2.
  • Whitten fought hard, but fell to Goggin in singles #1, 6-4 and 6-2. Her partner, Anderson, lost as well in singles #2 with Smith taking both sets by 6-2 scores.
  • Martinez pushed Williams as far as she could in the first set, losing 7-5, but Williams picked it up in set number two, winning 6-1 to take singles #3. Like Anderson, Dai fell to Thomas' Taylor Davis by 6-2 scores in two sets.
  • Brenna Peterson lost singles #5 by 6-0 and 6-0 scores to Pierce, while Hannah Nangle lost singles #6 to Cassidy Hamm by 6-1 scores in both sets.
