Kristen Gerety is the Head Coach of Women's Tennis. In her first season, she led the women's team to the North Atlantic Conference Championships, where they earned the #2 seed and were Championship finalists. The team was proud to have several players given conference honors, including the undefeated Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors for doubles. Four players also earned honors on the North Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team for having a 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale. Women's Tennis was also awarded the 2019 Lesley University Team Academic Cup for the team with the highest GPA. Gerety also served as the Assistant Coach of Men's Tennis at Lesley for the 2018-19 season.
She was formerly the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at Division II Bentley University in Waltham, where she coached against opponents at the D1, D2 and D3 levels, including Boston University, University of Connecticut and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During her tenure at Bentley, the women's team set a new record for the most season wins in program history and reached the semifinals of the NE-10 Championship Tournament. The men's team was also a playoff contender, reaching the NE-10 seminifinals for each of the years she helped lead the team.
Coach Gerety is an instructor at the Woburn Racquet Club in Woburn, where she teaches private and group lessons. She played collegiate tennis at Division II Merimack College for four years and was named captain senior year. She is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association and the United States Tennis Association.
Coach Gerety is also the Head Coach of the Saugus High School Girls Tennis Team in Saugus, MA. She is certified by the National Federation of the State High School Associations in Partnership with the United States Tennis Association. The Saugus team was also the recipient of the Student-Athlete Award for highest team GPA. The taem finished fifth in the Northeast Conference and Coach Gerety was named Coach of the Year.
Prior to Bentley, she was the head coach of the boys tennis team at Austin Prep School in Reading where her team won the Catholic Central League Championship, reached the semi-finals of the MIAA D3 North Championships and she was named Coach of the Year. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Business COmmunications and Public Relations from Emerson College as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Merrimack College.
Gerety also serves as Vice-Chair of Tennis for the North Atlantic Conference. She continues to compete in singles, doubles and mixed leagues with teams through USTA as well as the North Shore League. She lives with her husband Todd and children in Melrose.
