Fitchburg, Mass.- The Lesley men and women track and field teams competed at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Track & Field Invitation held at Fitchburg State Univeristy on Saturday April 7. The women placed 13th overall out of 15 teams and had two runners place 6th in their respective events.
INSIDE THE EVENTS:
- Mike Fleming placed the highest on the men's side in the long jump with a jump of 17-03.50 good for a 9th place finish. Fleming also competed in the 100 meter dash finishing with a time of 12.84. Ethan Merians also ran the 100 meter dash and finished just behind Fleming with a time of 14.31.
- The Lynx had three women compete in the 400 meter dash. Julia Fagundes performed best of the trio finishing in 6th place overall with a 1:08.67 time. Kayla Ranere finished with a time of 1:17.01 while Caitlin Sugrue finished with a time of 1:24.09.
- Senior Alex DiMauro shared the highest finish on the day with Fagundes, claiming a 6th place finish in the 1500 run with a time of 5:38.79. Nicole Footer was close behind with a time of 5:51.14 good for a 9th place finish. Beth Caronna and Anne Cooper finished seconds apart at 6:00.19 and 6:01.12 respectively. Lauren Deschrouer was the final Lynx member to finish in a time of 8:10.58.
- Rachel Piontkewicz finished the 100 meter dash with a time of 15.37, while Nicole Footer finished the 800 meter run at 2:57.59.
Both the men and women track and field teams compete at the Southern New Hampshire Penman Relays on Saturday April 14.
