After enduring last season's nine-game road trip that lasted almost two months, Lesley's women's basketball team is treated to some home cooking this season, as the Lynx released their 2011-12 schedule.
The Lynx, which finished in first place and advanced to the New England Collegiate Conference title game last season, open at home with a Great Northeast Athletic Conference opponent for a second straight year, playing host to Rivier on Wednesday, November 16 at 8 p.m. Three days later, Lesley will play in the Pine Manor Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20. The team comes home to open up a four-game homestand that spans parts of three months on Tuesday, November 22 against Eastern Nazerene.
Lesley opens up its NECC schedule at home on Tuesday, December 6 against Newbury College at 8 p.m. After the holidays, the Lynx wrap up their homestand on January 4 against Simmons before a nine-game stretch of NECC contests. Save short trips to nearby suburbs Chestnut Hill (Pine Manor) and Weston (Regis College), Lesley will not leave the Greater Boston Area until January 14, when the team travels to Southern Vermont College.
The Lynx finished in first place at 13-3 in NECC games last season, going 16-11 on the year.
