The Lesley women's basketball team was defeated 69-32 on Thursday night at the Nicholas Athletic Center in Cambridge, MA.  Anna Maria's Kristina Russo was the leading-scorer for the Amcats with seventeen points. Franchesca Hammond had an impressive overall game with fifteen points, eight steals and six assists.  Theresa Pereira led the Lynx with fourteen points in the game. Dakota Jones added another double-double grabbing fifteen rebounds and netting ten points.  Lesley drops to 0-6 on the year, while Anna Maria improves to 1-4





  • After trading baskets to start the first quarter (7-7), the Amcats went on a 16-4 run to end the frame.
  • Anna Maria's Franchesca Hammond had eights points while teammate Kayla Odegaard chipped in six.
  • Theresa Pereira got the Lynx started with seven points in the first quarter including a three-pointer early in the game.
  • Lesley tightened up defensively allowing only 10 points in second quarter.
  • Elizabeth Portante stole a cross court pass and finished with a fast-break lay-up at the other end and Dakota Jones netted two points to end frame.
  • After a tight third-quarter, the Amcats pulled away with the game in the fourth-quarter going on a 17-2 run.
  • Franchesca Hammond finished with 15 points and 6 assists and Shannon Hofmiller added 11 points and 6 rebounds of her own.
  • Dakota Jones recorded a double-double (10 pts and 15 reb) and Elizabeth Portante chipped in 7 points and 13 rebounds.The Amcats finished the game with 39.7% shooting percentage (29-73) and forced 27 turnovers.
  •  Lesley finished shooting 24.1%  from the field and forced 21 Amcat turnovers.

Lesley will travel to Mitchell College on Saturday, November 2nd for a 1:00 pm start time.  Anna Maria will host Simmons College on Saturday, November 2nd at 1:00 pm.
